The Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ is the main cathedral of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. It’s located in Kyiv on the left-bank of the Dnipro (Dnieper) River in the Livoberezhnyi neighborgood. Being one of the few churches of Kyiv that are located on the left-bank.
Construction started on 27 of October 2002. The first servise was hodl here on 19 of January 2006, at that time in not finished building. Patriarchal Cathedral was built over 12 years
Opened on 27 of March 2011 with Enthronement of Sviatoslav Shevchuk, who was elected Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Consecrated on 18 of August 2013.
The Cathedral was built solely on donations of ordinary people, both in Ukraine and other countries.
On 17 of June 2009 in the cathedral, was the first, since independence of Ukraine, Episcopal ordination in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
